Celebrating its grand 50th anniversary this year is The Beatles’ seminal smash hit Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. A special reissue will be made available soon in a double-CD, double-LP and 6-CD format.
The vinyl edition will feature a stereo remix by Giles Martin on disc 1 and outtakes on disc 2. This release boasts fully restored versions of both ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ and ‘Penny Lane’, two singles that were recorded during the same sessions. It was noted by George Martin, the Beatles’ longtime producer, that he regretted releasing those two tracks four months before the arrival of Sgt. Pepper, rather than including them in the original running order.
This reissue is slated to release on 26th May.
